Jordan LEADS the WAY on Snow Day Reform:

On Tuesday, February 26, 2019, the Jordan School Board ratified the Snow Day Make-up day for educators. Today March 1st, 2019 the course was released and hundreds of teachers have already been in the course learning about Blended Learning.

Blended Learning is part of 21st Century Education which is often referred to as Personalized Learning. This is the research area that I have been exploring for almost a decade. In the last 10 years, Blended Learning has innovated the traditional classroom and had given teachers new tools to teach in the classroom. Blended Learning is a new Mindset that has the ability to match students learning styles up with a proper learning environment.

Over the years I have received some criticism that Blended Learning is my little “Pet Project”. I wish I could claim it as my idea, but honestly, this is innovative learning that is taking place worldwide. I am grateful that the Jordan School Board and District are pushing our schools to the forefront of 21st Century Learning. The best part of this course was joining in the discussion boards, reading about what our teachers are doing and what they can do. We have such amazing teachers!

I can not thank our administration enough for giving all of our teachers the opportunity of learning about Blended Learning in a Blended Learning environment!!! Great things will take place in our schools because of this training.

Jordan once again leads the way in how snow days should be made up! This is excellent.

Here are a few of the video’s and websites that were used in the Canvas Learning Course if you are interested in what our teachers are learning.

Grant Beacon Middle School, a Denver Public School, is where students Achieve, Lead and Grow Together. One of the most direct ways this happens is through Blended Learning, which staff, teachers and students have embraced this school year. The program has been so successful, it was named the second Janus Blended Learning Lab Site for Denver Public Schools.

3 Simple Steps to the 4 C's

So you’ve heard of the 4 C’s—critical thinking, creative thinking, communicating, and collaborating—but how are you supposed to teach your own subject and the 4 C’s?

The good news is that the 4 C’s help you teach your subject. They aren’t content. They’re skills for gaining content. Here are 3 simple steps that use the 4 C’s to help students learn your subject:
